I am accredited in both Illinois and Missouri as a licensed clinical professional counselor with over a decade of experience. I also have a state certification as an alcohol and other drug counselor. I work with clients who may be struggling with a variety of concerns, including but not limited to, depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship issues, anger, and addiction.

I earned a master's degree in professional counseling from McKendree University. I was invited back after graduation to teach in that same program, where I had the opportunity to pass on my knowledge of being a therapist.
Prior to that, I graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa.

Schedule a free consultation
Your first step is to click on the "schedule a free consultation" button and identify an available time that works best for your schedule. I will call you at the time you have chosen. During this 15 minute consultation, I will get a summary of why you are reaching out for therapy services. I will also go over relevant information that is important for you to know. At your request, I will schedule you for your first therapy appointment. However, if I feel your concerns are outside of the scope of my practice, I will refer you to a trusted colleague who may be able to better address your needs.
Following the consultation, you will receive an email with the intake forms that must be completed along with a video link to our first video session. You will be asked to complete the questionnaires and there will be an invitation to enroll in autopay. It's really important to complete these forms at least 2 business days prior to your first appointment. If the forms and autopay enrollment are not completed, a new appointment will have to be scheduled.
Initial appointment
Our first appointment together is not what a typical therapy session looks or feels like. I will be attempting to gather as much information from you as I can in the time allotted. The questions I will ask will be about all aspects of your life so that I am able to begin forming a complete picture of who you are. This first session also helps me to address any immediate concerns. At the end of this session, you get to decide if you want to move forward and continue services with me. If you do, we will schedule another session, and I'll email you another video link.
Subsequent Sessions
During our time together, we will explore your concerns and I will assist in a supportive and nonjudgmental way. Everything we discuss will stay within the confines of our sessions. I hope to create a safe therapeutic environment so that we can begin and continue to have an open dialogue. We will address the concerns you came to therapy with as well as any issues that arise along the way. You get to decide at the end of each session if you want to move forward and continue services with me. If you do, another session will be scheduled and a video link will be emailed to you.
Discharge from Services
Therapy starts and ends with you. If at any point, you decide you have gotten all that you need from services with me, we will make plans to end our time working together. We will close out any goals that you have achieved and make a plan for your continued success.
